Also, though the trailer truly sucks, another possible source of inspiration:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sDX1m0Y2Vkg

But my question is how is there a 'rest of the world' if we only control our characters. I'm not saying I should have any kind of power, and in fact that's an extremely bad idea.

See, in a book, do you ever really get the "rest of the world"? Not usually. You get whatever the main character(s) see. Also, you can bring in outside information if you want. You COULD do a scene completely uninvolving anyone of our characters. But then afterwards, what people write has to be consistent with that.

We can control minor, secondary characters. Obviously if one of us invents a companion who plays a critical role in their part of the story, how much others can control them is up in the air, but other than that it's manageable.

Hmm, and of course, controlling more than one character is also a very distinct possibility. It just gets slightly ridiculous.
SPEAKING OF TOPICS
I have a nice little plot that I use concerning a government testing facility, experiments, scientists, soldiers, and the nastiness and experiments that go on there. It's very malleable and creepy as shit. Anyone interested? Should I post moar?

Oh yes, topics.
I propose a Star Wars RP. I can be the GM and/or a character.

How accessible would that be for those of us who have never seen Star Wars?

Azzie! Go for it. Post your own thread, we'll discuss it. Same to you, Lee. If someone doesn't get something about it, we'll be able to fill him or her in on Star Wars plot. For the record, I haven't seen the series in FULL.

At least you've SEEN it... EDIT: Well, I prefer to not have to work around existing canon, so I'm only using the Star Wars universe as a framework. The plots of the movies aren't going to matter much.

Oh, well, to clarify, I saw the first one, hated it, and decided not to pursue it.
But yeah, just using the universe as a framework would probably work a lot better.

star wars is one of those things that gets so over hyped by people who watched it in their childhood that anyone who didn't is underwhelmed when they see it.
