So there are some basic factions in the Aeon war, that can be divided into three categories.
The New Earth Government
This includes the Nazzadi, most normal humans, and almost all mecha, including the powerful Engel.
But like any group of human's the NEG is diverse indeed. From mafia supported by the Chrysalis Corporation, to Japanese sex cults, humanity has lost none of the heterogeny that has defined us.
Amid the normal humans, a number have learned to harness 'magic' as though it were just another science, to be bent according to it's own principles. These are sorcerers, and are tightly watched and regulated by the NEG government.
The Nazzadi are a proud race that believed themselves to be part of a militant empire millenia old. They are a strong-willed people, brave and capable in battle. They are watched carefully by the NEG, and killed on site by the Migou.
The NEG leads the public to believe that the war is going well, and humanity will certainly triumph. This is wrong. They are barely holding on. Despite the powerful war machines and countless soldiers and psychics, humanity is losing.
The Cults
Esoteric Order of Dagon - Looks to conquer the seas in their hunt for R'lyeh, so they may awaken the Great Lord Cthulhu. They have no need for direct military conflict, Cthulhu will take care of that for them when they are successful.
The Children Of Chaos - They wish to awaken Nyarlathotep, and are engaged in the Aeon War publicly, and their own Shadow War with the Eldritch Society. They command the Chrysalis Corporation and the Dhohanoid.
The Rapine Storm - Wishes to burn the mortal realm to the ground. They are subservient to the walking avatar of Hastur the Unnamed.
Death Shadows - Wishes to rot the mortal realm from within to pave the way for the Old Ones. They are subservient to Hastur the Unnamed. Get along well with the CoC, for obvious reasons.
The Migou
Part insect, part crustacean, part fungus. To the Nazzadi they are the Creators, to humanity they are the enemy. We do not know how they think, or why they are here. But they are.
They have a powerful brainwashing technique known as 'assimilation' that is irreversible and almost impossible to detect. Upon taking a town or city, they kill the Nazzadi and assimilate or enslave the humans, setting some to work for them, and sending some back into the world to spread chaos.
