"Xatu! There it is!" Tatha called over the wind whipping and roaring by as they flew high above the fields of Route 122. Mt. Pyre loomed high ahead, and maybe it was just her imagination, but Tatha could swear she saw a tall figure waiting at the base of it. Of course, there was no way she could see that far--anxiety was causing her mind to play tricks on her. Instead, she tried to think about something else to distract herself--and her mind immediately fell on her most recent mission.
Of course the Winstrates hadn't been cooperative. No one who managed to hide so effectively from Team Rocket for seventeen years WOULD come along without a fight. When the mother tried to attack with her Roselia, the father with his Linoone, the daughter, Vivi, with her Azumarill, and Vito, the son, with his Kadabra, Tatha sent out Shedinja to absorb the attacks--all ineffective against his Wonder Guard ability--while Lairon and Kabutops snuck up behind Vivi and carried her away by force. With a swift hit to the back of the head, Tatha knocked out Vivi, caught her before she fell over, and made a quick escape while Lairon blocked the doorway with his massive metallic frame.
"Xatu, time to make ourselves scarce!" Tatha called the pokemon out and recalled her other pokemon. With a simple teleport, Xatu carried his pokemon trainer and her new charge back to the Pokemon Center in Dewford Town.
It was a simple delivery back to headquarters; Meyer said nothing, only patted Tatha on the back and nodded to her. She gathered her bags and climbed aboard Xatu, ready for the long flight across the continent.
'Well,' Tatha thought, 'This train of thought really was no good. It just brings me right back here.' She knew that it was futile--no matter what, she was going to have to face Markus again, and soon. In fact, it was high time Xatu start descending...and descend he did toward the man who taught Tatha everything she knew about kidnapping, how to get away with the crime, and most importantly, how to crush her conscience into the dirt if it ever suggested that she--that Team Rocket, rather--was doing the wrong thing.

Finally.
Gwen stood over her backpack, hands on hips, annoyed. It had taken her long enough to find it, searching on foot. She'd gotten more turned around trying to outfly the stupod Rocket than she'd thought. Oh well. At least she could continue on her way.
She stretched and winced. Her wounds hadn't stopped bleeding, though it wasn't too serious at the moment, and she was exhausted, so it was probably really stupid to fly. But she had to get a head start before the Rockets realized her trick and started searching again--she'd only tried the Ditto mixup a few times in the past years, in really desperate situations, but they had to have started to catch on by now.
Hm. Where to go. She really had planned on staying in the mountains for a while, and she'd only been there a few days. Stupid... Ugh. Whatever. The east sounded good, right in the middle of nowhere for a while. Far away from Lavaridge or Fallabor, which was probably the first place that grunt had gone with his "catch".
Gwen slipped on her backpack, made a small jump and transformed into a Swellow. Her two wings slipped between the loops of the pack where her arms had been--it made flying a little awkward, but it was something she'd gotten used to over the years and it wasn't too much of a problem.
As the hours passed the sun began to drop behind her, the shadows of the mountains stretching out before her. By the time the sun was half gone over the horizon, Gwen was just passing over Route 111, not even close to where she'd hoped to be by sunset. Well, it's the mountains, she told herself, the sun sets early in the mountains. Doesn't...doesn't count. It's still too soon to stop.... Her wings were growing heavy, so heavy, but she needed distance.
An hour or two passed, and the mountains grew smaller and smaller, eventually giving way to a deep forest. Ah...much nicer. Soon, she could rest. It was pitch black now, too...down in the forest Gwen could have sworn that she saw a Charizard heading in the opposite direction, a human figure on its back. In the back of her mind it registered that Charizards didn't populate this area of Hoenn, so it must have a trainer nearby...she wasn't alone...
Her consiousness was slipping, and so was her altitute. She struggled, half-heartedly, to stay awake, but in a moment Gwen had lost consiousness and was plummeting towards the earth.

I was tossing a ball around with Lefty in a small clearing in the woods. Hammer was getting warmed up with a rather large bone of his especially made for hitting. Sparky spotted Blaze in the distance. "Pika pika!" I looked up to see Blaze. I was a bit perturbed; he'd been gone for a really long time (all freaking day), and I didn't have another Pokémon to easily find him with. In short, if something happened to Blaze, he'd have to deal with it himself. Anyways, Blaze landed rather gingerly. I was about to gently scold him concerning his whereabouts, but then I saw something that explained the situation. Blaze had been carrying a girl on his back the whole time. I jogged up to him to assess the girl's condition. Her pulse was strong, but she was freezing cold. I looked up at Blaze "You doing okay, Blaze?" He roared; he really was a trooper. "Do you mind giving me some help with a fire? We have to warm her up." Blaze roared before igniting a nice pile of wood that we'd made earlier. I grabbed a blanket from my backpack, placed it on the ground near the fire, and then instructed Blaze to gently place her on the blanket. Then I wrapped her up in it like a Caterpie in a cocoon. "She'll sleep all night." I said to myself. Over the course of the next half hour, I found out exactly what had happened with Blaze. (All of my Pokémon are rather adequate at charades). Apparently, he had seen something fall out of the sky during his return trip. He found her lying on the ground, picked her up, and brought her back here. "Well, I don't know who she is or what she was doing, but she looks injured and generally beat up and tired." I said out loud after getting the full story. Poliwrath was deep in thought. "What's up, Lefty?" "Poli poli poliWRATH. Poli poli. Poliwrath!" I blinked a few times. He was right! She had to be this "Stone" person that the Rocket was looking for. I just folded my arms in awe. "How did you--" "Polyyyyyyy" He did that action again, putting his finger to his head. I chuckled, "What am I going to do with you?" "Poli." He shrugged. I decided to let RC out for the night. He was the fastest of my Pokémon, and he generally didn't sleep much. He would be perfect for an all-night guard. "Can you make it all night?" "Hauuuuuntaahhh!" "All right." I turned to the others, "The rest of you, make yourself scarce. Let's keep this place safe." They all nodded and headed off in different directions. All of the Pokémon in the forest respected me; there was no way that anything was getting through here without getting the crap beaten out of them. With that, I curled up on the other side of the fire. I trusted my Pokémon with my life. Well, that, and I was //really// tired. I drifted off quickly, allowing the darkness to seep in. It was nap time...

Climbing down the ledges near the shore of Lilycove I could hear screams and curses being thrown about. “Obviously Missy has done her job well” I thought, watching Winter touch down at the shoreline a moment ahead of myself. Making my way to Winter, I decided to leave my hoodie on the grass. “No sense in getting overheated” I reasoned. Walking over to where the grunts were, I noticed them attempting to grab pokeballs attached to floating belts that were ever so slightly out of reach. I began laughing at the display of stupidity causing the three to turn around at the noise.
“The Hell do you want kid? Get lost!” Screamed the grunt closest to Missy who decided to make herself known. The grunt in front was not as confident to dismiss me as a random kid though, noticing the streaks on mu Umbreon’s front legs and the body of a pokemon uncovered by the sleeve of my shirt. I grinned like the madman he probably thought I was as his eyes widened in recognition.
“N-n-n-n-no. No it can’t be!” he yelled.
“The hell?” said the grunt from the back, now focused on me as the other two grunts were.
“It’s him!” Grunt number 1 said. “The guy from the T.V. who blew up the base in the desert last month.”
“I do try” I replied, watching as Missy floated over to me with 3 belts of pokeballs. “Three?” I asked. “What about the ---”
From behind came the unmistakable sound of a truck starting. As I turned around, I noticed said truck heading straight for me. Before I could get out of the way, something came out of nowhere and slammed into the truck hard enough to tip it over, directly on top of the three grunts.
“Oh God” I said, listening to screams of dying men and watching Heracross fly over to me. “Wait here” I said, walking over to the truck.
The driver’s injuries were beyond repair. That much was clear from a mere glance. Deciding to empty my stomach was a terrible idea, especially considering that it was damn near empty to begin with. Hence, 5 minutes of the ever fun dry heaves. Getting myself under control, I heard voices from a distance coming to investigate the loud noise and screams from the beach. Realizing my plans for Lilycove had been ruined I recalled all my pokemon, returned for my hoodie and snatched a box that had spilled out of the overturned truck. Rushing to the rising tide, I quickly called out Starmie and with a quick look back and the people coming from the town, surfed out into the sunrise toward Mossdeep with two thoughts in my head. The first was that my plans were totally shot. The second involved Heracross looking at me right as he rammed the truck and screaming “DUES EX MACHINA!!!!”
Remembering the truck brought back the memory of the 4 Team Rocket members at the same time screams of horror began filling the air. Shutting down seemed like the right call for my brain, as I blacked out a couple hundred feet off shore fearing the kill on site order that would now be placed on me.

((I didn't know Poliwrath could think...))
"Wow, Boots," Dora breathed. "A dragón! That's pretty super especial impresionante!" The pokeball twitched on Dora's belt. "Y'wanna kill it, Boots?" Dora asked. The pokeball twitched again in response. "I dunno. The charizard looks pretty nice, and I'm not sure that guy wants you to kill it." She pointed to the sleeping trainer nestled up against a haunter (though how THAT worked, she had no idea). The pokeball twitched again. "Matar him too? Well, if you say so, Boots, mi amigo."
Dora tossed the pokeball into the grove, unleashing a raging purple primeape. "BOTAS DE GO GO!" Dora screamed, grabbing an empty pokeball from her belt. "GO GET THAT MEAN ENTRENADOR!" Boots sprinted towards the trainer and his pokemon while Dora darted for the charizard. "Here, draggy draggy dragon!" She called. "Come be Dora's amigo."

((Poliwrath is capable of thought; it's a living organism. Also, my Pokémon grew up somewhat independent out here in the woods; they can all think for themselves.)) ((Also, who in the hell is Boots? You never specify which Pokémon it is. No matter...))
A loud "POLI!" was followed by the sound of rushing water. I jumped to my feet; that had scared the crap out of me. I slowly took in the scene before me. Lefty was attacking a purple Primeape with his water gun... Wait, what? I rubbed my eyes, but it was in vain. About 20 feet away from me stood a purple Primeape. RC appeared at my side, quickly followed by the rest of my Pokémon. I called Lefty off. "All right. Hold it for a minute." Lefty obeyed, and everything came to a halt. I saw the small girl behind the Primeape. "Who are you, what do you want, and why were you attacking me?" My Pokémon all prepared for battle, but I was rather hoping to avoid one... The forest was silent; all the other Pokémon were waiting. My train of thought, now up and running, ventured to the possibility of her being a Rocket member. Only time would tell...

Dora spun and glared at the trainer talking to her. "Swiper, no swiping!" She screeched at him, throwing more pokeballs. "Ir, Diego!" A Mr. Mime appeared in a flash of annoyingly bright light. "Una patada en el culo!" The Mr. Mime turned and stared at the girl. "なんだ?私が何を言っているとにかくスペイン語しないことを、スペイン語を話さない。" He gibbered. Dora ignored him, and kept chasing after the charizard with a pokeball.
Boots grabbed the poliwrath by an arm. "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTS!" He howled, spinning the pokemon through the air, then smashing it on the ground. "BOOTS SMASH." It snorted, turning to the trainer. "BOOTS SMASH ALL."

Al. I sense pure rage and insanity to the north. It is a force I the likes of which I have never imagined possible.
That's great buddy, but I don't see how it matters right now.
It doesn't. Just thought I'd mention it.
I worry about you sometimes, you know that?
I do to.

I couldn't believe my eyes. What the heck what going on here???
That's it...
My stance became strong, my eyes narrowed, and my left hand rotated my hat 180 degrees. "RC! Use Psychic on that purple scoundrel!" I turned to Blaze. "She can't capture you. A Pokéball won't work because you already belong to me. Blaze stopped on his tracks, and then turned to face the girl. "Good. Now fly!" Blaze launched himself into the air, roaring ferociously. He must still be hungry...
"You all right, Lefty?" "Poliwrath!" He was fine; just like always. "Hammer! Bone-merang attack!" I blinked at the whistling bone. //Holy crap. He can throw!// I thought to myself.

Dora threw out another pokeball. "Swiper!" She yelled as a furret slunk into existence. It hissed, which was odd as furrets are not known for their hissing ability. "And if I kill you, Sr. Hombre Entrenador," she laughed. "Then I can take your dragon and play with him all the time!"
Boots punched Poliwrath again.

((Ummm... I kinda attacked your Pokémon. Since when was Primeape invulnerable to Psychic? And what about Mr. Mime? He got bone-whacked.))

(After this, I think we should relegate trainer battles to their own threads.)

((That's hilarious that you have memorised what Primeape is weak to. And I forgot about Diego. Hang on.))
Diego fell over. He was not so enthusiastic about this whole fighting thing.

((Sorry. I kinda sorta like Pokémon... a lot.))
Lefty blocked the punch from Primeape.
"Sparky! Thunderbolt!" Sparky jumped off my shoulder. "Pi---- ka----- CHU!!!!!!" Lefty heard me tell Sparky to attack. He took a few steps backwards, but wasn't quite fast enough. He got fried. Lucky, so did the Primeape. "Lefty, return." I said, nearly chuckling. "Sparky! We need to work on your aim." "Piiikaaaaaa?" He said after landing softly on his feet. "It slipped? Whadaya mean 'it slipped?' It's not a baseball. It slipped...Hah! You're a riot." "Pi-KA-chu!" Sparky said, not turning away from the battle at hand.

The fire and lighting dancing at the end of his fingertips did not bother Marie in the slightest. It was something she was very used to, after all, she had lived her entire life with people like that, in fact, she had been a person like that for her entire life. This was why she frowned slightly when he mentioned them 'giving' her her powers. No, that wasn't right. She had always been like this. Always. Something was wrong here. But she fought down the nasty feeling that settled like a stone in the pit of her stomach and smoothed the fur on her tail down with one hand.
Al. That was a good name, a straightforward name. She tilted her head. Yes. He was a good person, but there was still something about him. She shook her head, as if the added motion would help dislodge the bothersome thought. “Well, I'm Marie, Marie Fischer I think, but I can never remember.” She smiled, and moved forward, in more of a liquid fashion than anything else. But she caught herself. She was always catching herself. Daddy always taught her to think before she acted, and now she cringed back slightly, hoping she hadn't overstepped herself.
She eyed the Kadabra warily. She recognized it now. One of the ones that can get inside other peoples heads and do bad things. Psychic types scared her, they always did, and they made her head burn unpleasantly. She could usually block them a little bit, but... she was never very good at it.
“Uhm,” she wrung her hands nervously, “I'm sorry about that, but... oh, uh, never mind.” Here she was, rambling again. Her ear flicked in irritation at herself.
“Friend? Are you sure? The last people who said they were my friends blew up my home and tried to, uh, 'rescue' me.” She stopped. “I'm sorry, that was kinda rude and all, I mean...” She bit her lip. “I only just met you, and some of the others like us could be kinda, well, crazy, y'know?” She laughed nervously, thinking that perhaps Al knew all too well.
