Limbs made of lead, the smell of outdoor grills, killer headache, and the taste of sand.
These are the things my senses picked up on as I awoke. Not feeling the gentle rocking of the sea, I assumed I was on land somewhere and judging by the food smell that somewhere was at least somewhat populated.
"ugghh god" I said, opening my eyes to see the box I stole from the Rocket truck. Peering inside, I noticed a few potions (trash), a few new pokeballs (meh), a TM that I believe is toxic (score for Winter!), and a shiny purple rock that reminded me of an evolution stone.
"well, time to see where I actually ended up" I said as I sat up, returning Starmie to his pokeball. Looking over, I noticed someone watching me with more than casual interest. Jumping to my feet, I locked eyes with this newcomer for a few moments before asking "Where am I?"

Oh lovely. He's awake.
It had struck Theras as a good idea to maybe not project the fact that he was a Rocket-- EX-Rocket-- considering the fact that he had seen this kid kill several of them in cold blood maybe... an hour or so ago? He had no sense of time, so it didn't matter.
What amused him the most, was his lack of attention to his surroundings. He was a newbie. Anyone who was used to this, or any good at it really, would probably have done an immediate scan of his surroundings first instead of going for his spoils. Of course, this gave Theras time to slip off his jacket and drop it on the sand, eye him warily, and steady a knife in his hand, half-concealed by the long-sleeved shirt that had dried out more quickly than had been expected of it. Good job, I'll have to give you a promotion, Theras thought irreverently. Absol stretched, extending its claws and digging furrows with them in the sand before turning away to scan the sky.
Right. The kid. He almost forgot about that-- him. Theras met his eyes with nothing but a rather bland look: a mixture of mild curiosity and amusement and not much else, and he smiled slightly in a disarming way.
"You're on the sandbar west of Mossdeep." Theras rolled his left shoulder and winced slightly. Probably ended up pulling a muscle dragging this kid in to shore. Figures. Do a good deed, and you get rewarded with a dislocated shoulder or something.
Theras sighed inwardly. And after this would probably come all that pointless questioning. The who are you's and the why's and how's and similarly tiring conversation that would take forever, and then he would probably be goaded into battling. Or, an attempted goad to battle.
Might as well cut to the point, neh?
"So, why'd you go after the base at Lilycove?" Theras cracked his neck and flashed the kid an easy-going grin, completely at odds with the cold he felt crawling under his skin. Something bad was going to happen, he could feel it almost as good as any Absol.

Searching, on and on....sweeping back and forth across seemingly endless expanses of ocean, interrupted only occasionally by specks of islands here and there. Trainers no longer roamed these waters. Tatha heard that these routes used to be FILLED with eager swimmers, ready to battle with their pokemon. Not anymore.
More ocean...more islands...no sign of the boy, yet.
Tatha could feel Xatu's strength waning. "Just a little further, boy..." she muttered. "Just a little further..."

With Marie on Salamances back, he jumped on and gave the fairly friendly dragon a pat on the shoulder.
"Change of plans buddy, we're going. Anywhere outside the city will work." The dragon nodded and abruptly they were off.
On the ground, Billy was miserable. It was his first shift in this bloody city, and by god it was COLD. He had no idea how close to death he had come this day.
On they flew, over the slums of Mauville, the remains of the once proud Pokemon Gym. It was a shame.
They flew to what was once the Whismur caves. Salamance landed amongst the rocks, and Al gathered a few sticks and stones into a circular arrangement. Giving Salamance a nod, the dragon blew on the circle, and curled up by the new fire.
"Marie, I swear the ability to curl up by a safe fire is the only reason he sticks with me. Now, I have a base I need to get some information from. We need a plan. Maybe we can get something for you in there as well. Are you with me?"

"I made it all the way to Mossdeep unconscious?" I thought. Ok. This doesn't look too good. Head spinning. Options.
1. Fight. Not smart in my current state.
2. Flee. huh. maybe.
3. uhhh....fuck my head hurts..
"Mmmk, thanks" I say to this stranger, turning to see that I am indeed in Mossdeep. "Thanks" I added, walking toward Mossdeep, straining my ears to see if this stranger would simply let me walk away.
"Not likely." I thought. "Not with my luck"

Upon realising that she was never going to get an answer, Dora threw up her hands in exasperation. "Idiotas!" She yelled. She returned all her pokemon to their pokeballs and promptly started walking in a different direction.

Flying was the best thing that had ever happened to her. Soaring through the sky, with not a care in the world... even the stars were only a stretch of the claw away.
Marie was still grinning from ear to ear when they glided in for a landing into the caves. She watched with curiosity at the fire gathering. Fire was a luxury for her, who could not afford to make one half the time at the risk of being either found, or setting the entire place ablaze with a rogue electrical fire. So when it was made, she curled up close to it, as close as she could bear without singeing her fur and hair.
She gazed at Al steadily as he suggested his plan of action. The firelight flickered pleasantly on his face and made the entire cave super-bright in her eyes, throwing every detail into sharp relief. She considered it for a moment and nodded very slowly. Information was harmless enough. And the base might not take too kindly to her showing up on their doorstep, a reminder of their failure and an experiment to boot. They might think her a traitor or a saboteur.
"Sound good, I'll work with you." She nodded again, this time more decisively. "I'm not so good with plans though, haven't really been here long enough to know anything about this place." She shrugged. "A service or delivery entrance maybe? That's always what the others talked about as being the most likely place of attack."
--- ooc|| Salamence, lol. I just saw Toothless frow How to Train your Dragon in my mind's eye. ^^

Surprisingly, the stranger let me go without incident. Deciding to get a shower and something to eat, I checked myself into a small motel on the Southern edge of the island, tucked away in a corner just before you get to a huge building that use to have space stuff in it. I had no problem getting a room, though I did receive an understandable look for ordering a room in the middle of the day and clearly not for looking like I just crawled through 500 yards of sewage to escape from a rocket lab.
Fed (I'd lucky found the source of the delicious smelling food from earlier), bathed, and exhausted, I felt that sleeping through the day would be the best thing I could do, right after seeing if a Rocket press conference would be on tv. Those things were great for gathering information.
After searching for the channel I was looking for, I found one that appeared to be nearing the Q&A section that the Rockets still allowed for some reason.
"...an act of extreme terrorism that will NOT go unpunished. The murder of four Team Rocket members is not something we take lightly. Therefore, we are bumping 15 year old Gwendolyn Stone, known for severely damaging one of our laboratories at the age of eight, up to public enemy number one. Any information leading to her arrest will be handsomely rewarded. Thank you for your time.” And with that he walked off the stage.
“Huh. I guess they don’t do the Q&A anymore.” I thought, before realizing what had actually happened. “Some girl I didn’t even know was going to end up taking the heat for what happened back in Lilycove. Some dangerous girl apparently. Maybe I’ll meet her on my journey to Slateport. We’d be good for each other.” I thought, snickering as I lay down for the day.

"THERE!" Tatha yelled over the sounds of rushing wind. "I see something! Xatu, take us down!"
Xatu tilted downward, preparing to land on the small island below, when a particularly strong gust of wind blew at him. The pokemon flapped his wings to stay stable, but his strength was gone and he soon lost control. He began spinning, Tatha crying out in surprise and clinging desperately to his neck the whole while.
The wind passed, and Xatu tried to right himself by beating his wings as hard as he possibly could, but it was no use--his energy was drained. It was thus that Tatha and Xatu were sent careening into the ocean near the island they hoped to land on. Tatha blacked out as soon as she hit the water.
((I guess it's better than whiting out. ^_^))

"She's gone." I breathed a huge sigh of relief. I felt my legs wobble underneath me, and I promptly made the decision that I no longer needed to stand. I gave in to gravity. "Pikapi!" Sparky ran up to me. "I'm all right, buddy. I just need a bit of a rest." Blaze roared above me. Oh yeah. The girl. I looked behind me for the girl, but she was gone. I sighed, "Well, I tried." "Pika pika pi pikachu." "All right, guys. I'm going to take a quick nap." I barely finished my statement before falling into a deep sleep.

Theras frowned as he finished stowing his leather jacket among the roots of one of the large cypress-esque trees. It was warm out, and while he was still in unfamiliar territory it would be wise not to draw undue attention to himself.
"Jeez, what a weirdo. Save someone's life, and they just ignore half of your questions before hopping onto an exhausted pokemon and make it take them to shore." He ruffled Absol's fur where she lay beside him, regal. "People like that give rebels and Rockets a bad name. I've never done something like that to you, have I?"
Absol licked his fingers and purred slightly.
"Thanks, I appreciate it love."
The two of them were silent and they watched the sky light up bloody as the sun sank into the water.
If it wasn't for Absol, Theras would never have noticed the small figure plummeting from the sky. He was on his feet before it hit the water, and despite his irritation and fatigue, both he and Absol were swimming for it. Thankfully it landed close to the sandbar, or else he would never have managed to pull her out.
Absol grabbed the pokemon, a Xatu, and Theras dragged the woman back to shore, fighting to keep her head above water. The four of them managed to reach shore, and he felt for a pulse.
It was strong and regular, and her breathing was even. He sighed in relief and Absol licked the Xatu's cheek feathers.
She seemed to be looking fine, no broken bones, no inhaled water as far as her could tell, so he built a small fire nearby and sat by her side. He hadn't planned on getting a fire started, but it was probably in his guest's best interest. He half-considered getting the wet clothes off of her, but he decided against it. Pokemon trainers often fought first and asked questions later.
He winced slightly and smiled a bit as he prodded the flames with a branch of driftwood. Absol had curled up next to both the woman and her unconscious pokemon.
"I just hope she doesn't have half a mind to kill me when she wakes up, yeah Absol? I must have done something wrong, to have to rescue two people in the past day."
